In the Entrepreneurship Club, you will help write, analyze, and evaluate business plans from Minot State students and community members while making the most of the resources available at Minot State for entrepreneurs and those curious about entrepreneurship. Club members take part in startup experiences, build connections, and meet new people also interested in entrepreneurship.

Housed within the Severson Entrepreneurship Academy, the club is affiliated with the national Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization (CEO). The club also distributes seed money to exceptional student business plans, providing young entrepreneurs with an authentic experience to begin their own business ventures.

The club recently worked with Prairie Sky Breads. PSA is a local, independent, baking operation offering home-style breads and baked goods to the Minot community since 2014 and recently moved into their new business location in Downtown Minot. The Entrepreneurship Club assisted with:

The Department of Business Finance Club at Minot State University promotes finance-related activities and interests, as well as inspire members to explore the vast career opportunities in finance. The club manages the Student-Directed Investment Fund (SDIF), which affords students the invaluable opportunity to connect investment theories to real-world practice as they apply their classroom learning to the management of the fund. This helps club members develop business analysis and practical investment skills, as well as a real experience in investing real money.

Students make up the investment committee, gather research provided by financial analysts, critique the assumptions, and evaluate the investment opportunity. Students will perform their own research about a company’s business model and competitive position, analyze the firm’s financial statements, and assess the investment opportunity. As a committee the students decide to invest or divest a certain investment position.
