  Minot State / Financial Aid / Transfer Student Scholar Award

Transfer Student Scholar Award

US and Canadian students with a minimum of 24 and no more than 70 transferable semester hours earned are eligible to apply for the Transfer Student Scholar Award. The award is one-time, non renewable.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, applicants must apply for admission and submit a completed Minot State General Scholarship Application by the February 15, 2026 priority deadline* to be considered for the Transfer Student Scholars Award. 

      $1,000 with a GPA of 3.0 to 3.49      $1,500 with a GPA of 3.5 to 4.00

  • Transfer students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and transferring a minimum of 24 but no more than 70 credits are eligible to apply.
  • US and Canadian Citizen
  • Minot State General Scholarship Application required for admitted students (deadline is February 15)

  • The award is divided between fall and spring semesters.
  • Enrollment in 12 or more Minot State credits (full-time courseload) by the end of the 100% refund period for the 16-week semester (Financial Aid census date) for both the fall and spring semesters.
    • Collaborative classes are not eligible to be included in the 12-credits minimum.
  • Earn a fall semester GPA of 2.25 or greater.
  • The award is one-time, non-renewable.
  • Students who withdraw forfeit their award.
  • If all or a portion of your tuition is paid by a 3rd party agency, this award may be reduced or canceled.
  • The award is non-refundable.
  • A student may receive only one academic tuition waiver award per year. Students eligible for more than one award will receive the greater of the academic awards being offered.
  • The maximum amount a student can receive from institutional funds cannot exceed the tuition, fees and books, and room and board (if living on campus).  Institutional funds include any award program and endowed scholarships.


*Late applications will be considered as funds are available. Award programs are subject to change without notice.
