New Adjunct Faculty

Adjunct Onboarding Information

Welcome to the Minot State University adjunct onboarding process. This page will assist you in the onboarding process for new adjunct faculty with Minot State.

1. Once you have applied for and been granted the position, the administrative assistant in your area or the HR office will initiate a background check through Sterling Talent Solutions.

2. When the background check comes back CLEAR, you will be notified. At that time, you will need to complete the following forms:

  • FERPA form - This form starts the process of getting an employee number, access to email, and access to Blackboard.
  • Teacher’s Oath (or Affirmation form) - This form needs to be notarized, which can be done at Minot State's Business office on the second floor of the Administration Building, if desired. Stop by and one of the notaries in that office can assist with the process.
    • According to Chapter 15, section 10-13.2, North Dakota revised Code of 1943, every professor, instructor, or teacher employed by any university or college in this state, which is supported in whole or in part by public funds, shall take the oath of affirmation prescribed in this chapter.

These forms should be sent to the Vice President for Academic Affairs Office. Once they are received, information will be processed to get your account set up in the North Dakota University System (NDUS). This process can take 48-72 hours. Once this process is complete, you will receive an email from Minot State's Information Technology department (usually from Lauralee Dammen) with instructions to claim your account.

3. Please provide a copy of your current CV/resume and a copy of your transcript with the highest degree earned to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. These items can be emailed to Celeste

4. After you have been assigned a Minot State login and password, you must complete Title IX training and submit the Title IX Policy Acknowledgement form to the Vice President for Academic Affairs Office. To access the training, follow the links in the Acknowledgement form.

For questions, call 701-858-3310 or email Celeste. The VPAA's office is located on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building f you need to drop off physical copies of any of the forms.
