Hall of Fame

The MSU Summer Theatre Board of Directors is excited to initiate a Hall of Fame.

The purpose of the MSU Summer Theatre Hall of Fame is to celebrate and honor those who have had a lasting impact on Summer Theatre. That impact has come through stage direction, musical direction, choreography, stage performance, pit orchestra performance, administration, stage management, or technical design. In addition, special categories have been set up in the areas of specific production, supportive family, or long-time supportive business.

Nominations of the initial 2023 Hall of Fame Class came from the Board of Directors, and will be celebrated throughout the 2023 season. The initial class includes:

  • Tom "Mr T" Turner: Summer Theatre founder and long time director
  • Virginia Maupin: Well-known and respected dance teacher and choreographer
  • Sandra "Nelson" Olzweski: Memorable actress in several Summer Theatre productions
  • Justin Johnson: Wonderful winds player and cornerstone of the Pit Orchestra
  • The first production of the musical "Forever Plaid" starring Mark Schnabel, Darwin Langseth, Jerry Hanson, Mark Priess, and Wayne Semrau

Hereafter, nominations can come from not only board members but any Summer Theatre company member (current or previous) or any Summer Theatre supporter. Nominations should come to the Board of Directors for voting by January 10 of each year, at least one month prior to the annual spring meeting. Announcement of the new class of Hall of Fame inductees will be made by April 1 each year.

Nomination Form

In addition to celebrating inductees throughout each Summer Theatre Season, we will recognize each inductee on a new Hall of Fame Board. With your support, this board will be designed, installed at the theatre’s entrance, and updated annually with new inductees names. If you would like to support this endeavor, please consider a gift to the MSU Development Foundation — Summer Theatre Hall of Fame.
