Minot State University & Northwestern Bach Academy Partnership
Minot State University is delighted to announce the Minot State University & Northwestern Bach Academy Partnership. The Northwestern Bach Academy, directed by Dr. Andrew Megill, is an opportunity for up to two Minot State University students to learn from and collaborate with some of the most respected Baroque performers in the country. Minot State University students who are selected to participate will receive housing, enrollment, and travel to Evanston, IL paid for the academy on June 15-20, 2026.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Has been enrolled at MSU for at least one academic year.
- Has been enrolled in Concert Choir (MUSC 120) for at least two consecutive semesters.
- Clean disciplinary record
Audition Instructions Due March 7, 2026
- Indicate which track the student intends to pursue (Singer, Young Artist, Conductor, Musicology, Instrumentalist)
- Recorded performance of an aria or instrumental piece from the Baroque period (depending on the track the student intends to pursue)
- Two letters of recommendation from a professor or advisor
- Finalists will be invited for an interview
- Once selected, program participants will need to fill out an application on the Northwestern Bach Academy website
Funds:
- Roundtrip ticket from Minot to Chicago provided
- Lodging in Evanston, IL provided
- Tuition fee provided
- Students will need to cover their own food
