The cost of the TEAS is currently $70. This is mandatory and must be paid with a credit or debit card at the time of the test. The fee is subject to change.
To prepare for your test, you have several options to study. You will find information on TEAS prep, please visit the ATI website at TEAS Prep - For Students | ATI. There are frequently asked questions, a study manual, and online practice tests for sale.
The Gordon B. Olson Library has purchased the latest 2026-27 ATI TEAS 7 Study Guide: Prep Book with Review Questions for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, Version 7. It is on reserve in the library and located behind the circulation desk. It is available for 2-day checkout.
You can also go to Mometrix where you can find an online prep course. MSU students can receive 50% off ATI TEAS 7 Prep Course from Mometrix using the following code: MSU-50-OFF. These websites are optional and not required.
The TEAS test score will be used as part of the admission criteria. All applicants must take the ATI TEAS test and achieve a “proficient” level score to be eligible for admissions to the Nursing program. You are only allowed to take the TEAS test twice per application period.
On the day of the test, please remember your photo ID, credit/debit card, passwords for the ATI testing site. Please make sure that you have been on the ATI website to get a login and password before the day of the test. It is always a good idea to arrive early for the test in case there are any problems. You will not be allowed to enter the testing area if you arrive late.
