Application for Guaranteed Admission
The Nursing Program at Minot State University offers a GUARANTEED ADMISSION TO THE NURSING MAJOR.
To be considered for guaranteed admission, students must meet specific academic criteria, including either a ACT score of 24 or higher or a cumulative high school GPA of 3.25 or higher, graduate from a North Dakota high school, declare nursing as their major in their first semester at Minot State, and enroll in one of MSU’s First-Year Experience courses.
Once admitted through the guaranteed admission pathway, students must meet ongoing academic standards to progress into the clinical portion of the program. These expectations include:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA across the 12 required nursing support courses
- Earn a grade of C or higher in all required support courses
- No repeated courses
- Submit the admission to nursing major application, application fee, and all required documentation by the fall or spring deadline when ready to apply to the Nursing Major
- Note: TEAS testing requirements are waived for students who meet guaranteed admission criteria
