Welcome to the Minot State University Department of Nursing.

I started my nursing career as an LPN in 1983.  After a few years and a stint in the US Army, I went on for my ADN and then BSN at South Dakota State University becoming an RN in 1993.  As a nurse with over 30 years of experience working in ICU, Medical/ Surgical Nursing, Mental Health, ICU and ED before working in Nursing Administration and then Nursing Education, I went on to get my MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013 from Clarkson College in Omaha. I received my Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Nursing Organizational Leadership from the University of Mary in April 2023.

I relocated to Minot to teach here at Minot State because I truly love nursing and love teaching in nursing.  In addition to teaching for nursing, I will also teach a class in the Biology Department. I enjoy knowing that the quality of nurses can be positively impacted by nursing instructors that love what they do.  In addition to teaching, I work as a Nurse Practitioner.
