Art Education (BSEd)

Consider an art education profession
The Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Art is a professionally-oriented program designed to offer you a well-rounded experience for a career as a visual art teacher, grades K–12. Art education at Minot State is a meaningful and rewarding experience, during which you build confidence with technique, concept, and aesthetic criticism to develop a rigorous teaching practice. Candidates accepted into the BSEd program are expected to adhere to a high standard of excellence and demonstrate significant artistic growth.

Learn with Minot State
Our art department is small enough to foster strong student/instructor mentoring and large enough to attract quality professors who are engaged in outstanding research. Members of the art faculty are dedicated educators who have achieved personal success in fine arts, graphic arts, and photography, and work for the success of their students.

The art education program prepares you to be a competent, employable teacher as well as a skilled artist. In the last seven years (2011-2018), 100% of the Art BSEd graduates have been employed as teachers.
