The MSU Graduate School offers over $28,000 in graduate teaching and research assistantships each year. Assistantships are available through the various academic programs, and students interesting in applying for an assistantship should submit the Graduate School Assistantship Application (pdf) at least one semester prior to the semester they wish to be awarded that assistantship.
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be
- Fully admitted in an MSU graduate program
- Enrolled in at least 6 semester hours in the fall/spring; 3 semester hours in the summer
- Students enrolled in 595, 598, or 599 who are working on their final project or thesis are also eligible
- In good academic standing
- Selected by the program faculty for a specific assignment and be approved by the Associate Vice President of Graduate School
