Laurie Geller

Laurie Geller was appointed vice president for academic affairs in June 2016. She joined Minot State University in 2002 as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. While at MSU, she held a number of positions on campus, including Department of Mathematics & Computer Science chair; First-Year Experience associate director; Honors Program director; director of the Master of Arts in Teaching: Mathematics, a graduate program for practicing high school math teachers; writer and principal investigator of $4.8 million in grants; and co-founder and co-organizer of MSU NOTSTOCK, an annual, live, hands-in, hands-on signature arts event that began in 2007.

Geller has served as a member and chair of numerous campus committees and graduate student committees and has been recognized by students and colleagues for her teaching and advising.

Geller earned a Doctorate of Education in higher education from Montana State University, a Master of Science in mathematics from University of North Dakota, and Bachelor of Art with majors in math and psychology from Minot State University.

Geller grew up in Westerville, Ohio, and has called North Dakota home since 1990. She is married to Dusty Geller and has two children, Brittany and Ian, two granddaughters, Payton and Parker, a cat named Ivy, and an adorable, energetic, and talkative corgi named Supernova (with the best ears ever). When not working, she loves to bake, garden, run, work out, listen to music, and collect screen printed gig posters and other art prints.
