Welcome to Virtual New Student Orientation (VNSO)

VNSO is an opportunity to connect with your future classmates, prepare for academic and non-academic life, and learn to navigate campus prior to arriving for your Fall 2020 classes. These virtual sessions serve as an introduction to the University and can help you answer your questions about the incoming student process.

We value community and hope to build a virtual orientation session that provides an opportunity for students to build a connection to faculty/staff and their peers.

Virtual New Student Orientation is split into three phases. After completing the tasks in each phase, you will be sent communication, allowing you to start the next phase of orientation.  An orientation checklist is available for the entire process.

What to expect from your virtual orientation:

  • Claim Campus Connection account
  • Activate your Minot State email
  • Meet with an academic advisor and register for classes
  • Meet your Virtual Orientation Leaders and other new Minot State students
  • Learn about campus resources like parking, Residence Life, Student Health, etc.
  • Participate in VNSO weekly activities with your virtual orientation group
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Q & A Sessions about paying your bill
