    Offer high-quality academic opportunities to meet educational needs.


Deliver high-quality nursing education by providing an accredited baccalaureate nursing program supported by the liberal arts and sciences.

Deliver high-quality nursing education by meeting or exceeding CCNE accreditation and NDBON standards.

  1. Recruit and Enroll.
    Increase student enrollment and improve student support services.





Provide a positive learning and workplace environment that supports student success and promotes sensitivity to diverse populations.

Investigate options to enhance recruitment and retention of students and to increase student admission numbers in the nursing major through course planning, active recruiting strategies, guaranteed freshman admission, and scholarship opportunities.

  1. Retain and Graduate.
    Support and increase student retention and graduation.

Provide for the acquisition of knowledge, values, and skills to enable nursing graduates to meet competencies for entry level roles.

 

Create a departmental environment that supports diversity and- inclusion while promoting student success through advising, active learning, enhanced quality simulation and clinical experiences, and nursing scholarships.

  1. Vibrant and Inclusive Campus.
    Promote and support a vibrant and inclusive campus community.

Promote health and well-being to individuals and groups with varied and complex health needs across generations.

Encourage ongoing personal and professional development and life-long learning.

Monitor student needs and success through analysis of student learning outcomes, role-specific graduate competencies, graduate satisfaction data, program completion rates, and NCLEX first-time pass rates to assure graduates are prepared to address health care challenges across the health-illness continuum.

  1. Community Engagement and Partnerships.
    Foster and grow collaborative partnerships and community engagement.

Foster collaborative partnerships to enhance nursing education learning opportunities.

Foster diverse cultural experiences through community and global engagement and/or partnerships.

Support collaborative partnerships with clinical sites, internships, practicums, scholarships, grants, Nursing Education Consortium, CUNEA and other opportunities.

  1. Creative and Engaged Faculty and Staff.
    Support and value faculty and staff.

Support and value teaching, scholarship, and service.
Support meaningful student service, community engagement, and scholarly activities.

Promote a commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service by promoting professional development opportunities, continuing Nurse Scholarship Days, recognizing service, scholarly, and teaching achievements of students, faculty, and staff, and incorporating these activities into course assignments as appropriate.
