1. Meet the educational needs of the local, regional, national, and global communities.

Deliver high‐quality nursing education by providing an accredited baccalaureate nursing program supported by the liberal arts and sciences.

Deliver high‐quality nursing education by meeting or exceeding ACEN accreditation standards (2021), by preparing for CCNE application for accreditation (2020), and by preparing for and completing the NDBON site visit (2021).

2. Recruit, retain, and value well‐qualified students, faculty, and staff.

Provide for the acquisition of knowledge, values, and skills to enable nursing graduates to meet competencies for entry level roles.

Investigate options to enhance recruitment and retention of qualified nursing faculty, and to increase student admission numbers in the nursing major through course planning, active recruiting strategies, guaranteed freshman admission, and scholarship opportunities.

3. Create an institutional environment that supports student, faculty, and staff success.

Provide a positive learning and workplace environment that supports student success and promotes sensitivity to diverse populations.

Create a departmental environment that supports diversity and promotes student success through active learning, enhanced quality simulation and clinical experiences.

4. Promote and support the well‐being of students, faculty, and staff, enabling them to address challenges across generations.

Promote health and well‐being to individuals and groups with varied and complex health needs across generations. Encourage ongoing personal and professional development and life‐long learning.

Monitor student success through analysis of student learning outcomes, role‐specific graduate competencies, graduate satisfaction data, program completion rates, and NCLEX first‐time pass rates to assure graduates are prepared to address health care challenges across the health‐illness continuum.

5. Foster and grow collaborative partnerships locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.

Foster collaborative partnerships to enhance nursing education learning opportunities.

Foster diverse cultural experiences through community and global engagement and/or partnerships. Support collaborative partnerships with clinical sites, internships, practicums, scholarships, grants, Nursing Education Consortium, CUNEA and other opportunities.

6. Promote and recognize commitment to public service.

Support meaningful service and community engagement.

Promote a commitment to public service by continuing Nurse Scholarship Days, recognizing service achievements of students, faculty, and staff, and incorporating service activities into course assignments as appropriate.
