Artist Statement:
Art is the ultimate self-expression for creative individuals. Graphic Designers are individuals who use their creative talents to provide solutions for others. A student is defined as any person who studies, investigates, or examines thoughtfully. An athlete is deemed as a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise. I am a student-athlete-artist, and I have utilized these multiple aspects of my life to develop the positive physical, mental, and spiritual attributes I have today.
When it comes to my work, I aim to set a tone to my imagery and graphics. Being able to emulate the energy, effort, and passion behind each piece of work is my endgame when creating. Many will not remember if I used proper alignment for my composite images, or if I had shadows in necessary places, or if the hues are beautiful. As a wise woman once said, “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I don’t expect people to remember my work, but I only hope that it can bring them to a thriving spirit.
Biography:
Isis Cabral was born and raised in Oxnard, California. She moved to Minot to begin her college education, and to continue her softball career. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design. Isis is also pursuing a minor as a Fitness and Wellness Specialist, with a social media communications concentration. Isis has showcased her work in the MSU Juried Student Art Show from 2016-2020. She was also the marketing intern for the Minot State University Wellness Center during the 2019-2020 school year. Outside of the arts, Isis is also an impact player for the Minot State Softball team.
