Features of a Minot State art degree

Community
At Minot State University, you’ll be located in one of "America’s Most Artistic Towns," as ranked by Expedia’s travel blog ViewFinder. University opportunities include Art Club, Flat Tail Press, and NOTSTOCK, our popular arts festival on campus. Find your inspiration in the community through The Taube Museum of Art, 62 Doors Gallery and Studios, Artspace Suite 1 Gallery, or get involved with numerous local art groups like the Minot Street Art Movement.
Art galleries
Galleries are critical classrooms for the art student. The campus boasts three unique galleries, including the newly renovated Northwest Arts Center, which is nationally known for its diverse exhibitions of contemporary and traditional art. It is also home to an estimable collection of artwork and historical artifacts. Additional galleries reside in the art department and the administration building.
Learning environment
The art department is small enough to foster strong student/instructor mentoring and large enough to attract quality professors who are engaged in outstanding research. Small classes ensure you’ll receive personal attention from your instructors, engage in collaboration with classmates, and maximize your learning experience in our studios, classrooms, and galleries.
Personal studio spaces
Having a place of your own to make art is central to our creative community. We believe it is essential for growth. Personal studio spaces are available and provide students a place to think, work, and build community.
Art department scholarship
The Harvey & Arlone Twyman scholarship is available to incoming freshmen, transfer students, and currently enrolled majors. Awards are based on the quality of applications and student portfolios. You are encouraged to apply at MinotStateU.edu/msuart.

Accreditation
Minot State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
