  1. Submit application and pay the $35 USD application fee
  2. Submit an in progress high school transcript or a final, official transcript if already graduated.

*Freshman students who completed high school prior to 1993 are exempt from the high school core curriculum requirements. If you are at least 25 years of age on the first day of class, ACT or SAT scores are not needed.

  1. Curriculum description or transcript showing the following:
    1. Specific listing of classes completed by the student, identified and/or separated by class levels - Minot State may request a course syllabus or detailed description of course content
    2. Clear identification of those courses which meet the North Dakota University System College Preparatory Requirements>
    3. Key explaining grading system
    4. Date of student's graduation/completion of plan of study
    5. Signature of parent/instructor
    6. Identification of any other private or public high school the student has attended
    7. Diploma/Certificate issued by the local school district in which the student resides if the district provides such a document

Transfer students must have completed at least 24 credits and earned a 2.0 GPA to transfer to Minot State. The following is required to review the applicants file:

  1. If currently attending another college/university, an official in-progress transcript.
  2. Final, official transcripts from all other post-secondary schools previously attended. Transcripts must be sent directly from your school(s) to the Enrollment Services Office.

If transferring fewer than 24 semester credits

  • Applicants must to submit your high school academic records AND if you will be less than 25 years of age on the first day of class, you will need to submit official ACT/SAT test results.
  • Make sure you meet the dual credit admission requirements:
    • High school G.P.A of 3.0 or higher
    • To enroll in English classes: ACT English section sub-score of 18 or higher or a higher placement test.
    • To enroll in math classes: ACT Math section sub-score of 21 or higher or a higher placement test.
  • Speak with your high school principal or guidance counselor regarding Early Entry (Dual Credit) courses offered at your high school.
  • If you wish to enroll in classes on campus at Minot State contact the Dual Credit Coordinator to discuss course options and the enrollment process.
  • Complete the online Minot State admission application include $35 nonrefundable application fee (first semester only)
  • Complete Early Entry (Dual Credit) Enrollment Form including parent and high school administrator signature.
