Before joining Minot State University in 2021, I spent 7 years as a school-based speech language pathologist, working extensively with children who had speech sound, language, fluency, cognitive communication, and social communication disorders. My experience also involves working with children who have developmental disabilities, children on the autism spectrum, and with individuals who use alternative and augmentative communication. My areas of interest include speech sound disorders, school aged language disorders, and language and literacy. In the spring of 2024, I completed an intensive training on the assessment and treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Through my training and clinical experiences, I have the necessary skills to effectively and ethically assess, identify, and treat those with CAS. Additionally, I currently serve as the secretary for the North Dakota Speech-Language-Hearing Association and act as the faculty advisor for the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association on campus.
