Minot State accepting scholarship applications, deadline on Feb. 15
MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2026-27 school year with a Feb. 15 deadline.
“Scholarships play an important part in helping Minot State students achieve their educational goals in the most affordable way possible,” said Laurie Weber, Minot State director of financial aid.
The Feb. 15 deadline applies to current MSU students and prospective students seeking scholarships.
MSU awards nearly $5 million in scholarships and aid annually and is offering the most scholarship dollars in school history, thanks to a variety of scholarships funded by gifts to Minot State through the MSU Development Foundation. After a record-setting capital campaign, MSU raised its total endowments for scholarships and programs to 497. That number increased by 17 endowments in the past year and has increased by a total of 150 since 2019.
Students can apply for the general scholarship application at https://www.minotstateu.edu/finaid/scholarships/. Some Minot State departments use a separate scholarship application, and students are encouraged to check with their college and/or department for additional scholarship information.

Students are also encouraged to complete the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid at fafsa.gov in order to be considered for federal student aid programs and need-based Minot State scholarships.
Minot State also offers an Academic Excellence Scholarship to academically successful new freshmen. A student’s final unweighted high school GPA determines the award. Minot State $1,000 Hometown Pride Scholarship and Prairie Rose Scholarships for select May 2026 high school graduates from Minot and surrounding regional schools in Western and Central North Dakota are also available.
