Minot State men’s basketball is coming off a historic season in which the Beavers advanced to the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time in school history and set a record for wins in a season with 26 wins. The Beavers begin the season, the first year with new head coach Randall Herbst, on Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 in Durant, Oklahoma, in nonconference play against Southeastern Oklahoma State and Eastern Central University. MSU begins its home schedule with Bismarck State College on Nov. 19.
MSU-Billings went 21-12 last season. Minot State was one of those losses, a 92-66 defeat at the Minot State Dome. This year’s game is the seventh time the two schools have played each other in their respective nonconference schedules since Minot State moved to NCAA Division II. The series is tied at 3-3 during Minot State’s Division II era, with Billings holding a 9-3 all-time lead.
