Minot State postpones Alumni Association Gala

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State University Alumni Association announced Wednesday it is postponing the 37th annual Gala Dinner and Auction due to social distancing requirements stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event was originally scheduled for Friday, May 1 at the Clarion Hotel in Minot.

“This is an extremely tough decision to make, but one that we understand needs to be made to help ensure the safety of all who are involved in the Gala,” said Janna McKechnie, Minot State alumni association and annual giving director. “We want everyone to know we are postponing the Gala and not canceling it. We are working on dates later in the summer and will hopefully be able to announce a new date soon.”

The Gala Dinner and Auction is the Minot State Alumni Association’s premier fundraising event that features silent and live auctions, games, contests, a social, and dinner. The fundraiser supports student scholarships and alumni association sponsored activities.
