Student health clinic releases 2019-20 Minot State flu vaccine clinic schedule

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State student health clinic has released their 2019-20 flu clinic schedule for students, staff, and faculty.

Every year, the flu spreads across college campuses.

For students, constant exposure in close quarters like common living spaces, classrooms, shared restroom, and social activities enables flu viruses to circulate rapidly. On average, college students who get the flu experience illness of eight days or more along with increased rates of healthcare use, school absenteeism, and impaired academic performance.

Working in close quarters enables the spread of the virus among faculty and staff as well, and the CDC recommends that everyone on campus receive a flu vaccination annually.

Students and employees can attend one of the scheduled clinics on campus, with the first clinic being held in the Student Center Atrium on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Student can also schedule an appointment with student health after Oct. 9 through the MSU student health portal. To use the portal, students will need to use their Campus Connection username and password to log in.

For questions on the flu shot or the scheduled flu shot clinics, call the student health clinic at 701-858-3371.
