Theatre Arts Department presents 'Almost, Maine'
MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University’s Theatre Arts Department’s fall production, “Almost, Maine,” is almost here.
This smart, funny, and emotionally relatable show, directed by Aili Davidson Smith, Minot State associate professor in humanities, and written by John Cariani, will be performed in Aleshire Theater in Hartnett Hall from Thursday, Oct. 11 through Saturday, Oct. 13.
According to Smith, the play is about best friends finding their true love, lost love in marriage, love at first sight, falling in and out of love, and healing one's heart.
“Almost, Main is a wonderful play to include as many as 19 actors. The play consists of eight scenes containing two actors in each scene,” Smith said. “It's a great way to include new faces along with a few returning faces to the Aleshire Theater stage and MSU Theatre Arts Department.”
There are short transitions between each scene, with a Northern Lights lighting design.
The audience will also hear original incidental music composed by Julian Fleisher, the original sound designer for Almost, Main.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. The box office opens 30 minutes before the start of each performance. Tickets are $10 general admission and reservations are not necessary. Admission is free for MSU students, faculty, and staff with current MSU I.D.
