Old Main Society honors those who give

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University Development Foundation recognized 76 donors at its Old Main Society dinner celebrating charitable giving to Minot State University’s Foundation.  The society is made up of MSU’s most loyal and generous alumni and friends who vision and leadership enables the University to empower generations. 

“It is important to honor these individuals and organizations that have demonstrated their generous support in preserving Minot State’s vision, tradition, and ideals,” Development Foundation Executive Director Rick Hedberg said. “The Development Foundation is deeply appreciative to all members of the Old Main Society and Legacy Society for the incredible support and leadership they offer for the betterment of Minot State University.”

The Old Main Society was established in 1993 as part of the Development Foundation’s effort to recognize the contributions of donors to the university. Minimum membership level is $15,000, with recognition also given to donors when they exceed the $50,000, $100,000, $250,000, $500,000, and $1 million levels.

This year’s master of ceremonies was MSU Development Foundation president Maynard Sandberg.

The order of events included a welcome given by Sandberg, followed by dinner, remarks by MSU president Steven Shirley, and the induction ceremony.

The ceremony also recognized members of the Legacy Society. Established in 1996, the Legacy Society includes those who have made a planned gift to the MSU Development Foundation to benefit Minot State University. Membership is open to anyone making a deferred or planned gift including bequests, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, and life insurance.
