Program Disclosures and Licensure Requirements

Some professions require you to meet specific criteria before obtaining a license. It is important to know whether your academic program meets the educational requirements in the state or territory where you are located or plan to work.

Minot State provides, to the best of our ability, information on state-by-state educational requirements for our licensure programs in the dashboard below. This dashboard addresses educational requirements only; states may also require exams, supervised experiences, background checks, fees, and other steps.

If you plan to seek licensure outside North Dakota, we recommend two actions:

  1. Consult your advisor to determine the best path forward. Education majors should contact the Teacher Advisement and Field Placement Office (TAFP). Some states have similar requirements to North Dakota, so you may only need a few additional or different courses. Your advisor or TAFP can help you choose the most efficient route to reach your career goals.

  2. Review the licensing board's webpages in the state or territory where you plan to work. These agencies provide the most current and accurate licensure information.
