Honors Program in Engagement & Scholarship (HOPES)

The Honors Program in Engagement and Scholarship (HOPES) at Minot State University challenges students who want a stimulating academic experience, caring faculty, collaborative learning, and creative thinking. 

Your participation in the Honors Program earns you either a concentration or minor.

  • Concentration: 16-17 credits of coursework
  • Minor: 25-27 credits of coursework

You will participate in lively seminar discussions, conduct independent study and research, produce and present an advanced-level writing project (minor only), participate in community service projects, and earn recognition for your achievements.

Mission
HOPES will enhance your scholarly empowerment and encourage active citizenship, leadership, and devotion to the common good.
Major representation
In Spring 2021, over 30 majors were represented in the Honors Program in Engagement & Scholarship with 100 students in the program.
Cumulative GPAs
The average high school cumulative GPA of incoming Honors students is 3.80. As of Spring 2021, all Honors students have an average cumulative GPA of 3.53.
