Scholarships and Awards

English Majors and Minors:
The English Department offers several scholarships for our majors and minors.

Currently, we will accept applications for:

The Humanities Scholarship: open to students majoring in one of the academic disciplines within the Division of Humanities (Art, Broadcasting, English, Theater or World Languages)

This scholarship opportunity is available because of financial contributions of the Division’s faculty members. Applicants must be majoring in one of the disciplines housed within the Division of Humanities (Art, Broadcasting, English, Theater, World Languages), have an outstanding academic record, and be a sophomore, junior, or senior. Awards are given based on the strength of the application and are decided by the Humanities Scholarship Committee with input from the faculty associated with the applicant’s specific field. The Humanities Scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s tuition over two semesters of the following academic year. A minimum GPA of 3.25 is required

The Twyman Scholarships for English Majors:

Harvey and Arlone Twyman Scholarships (English)-- Scholarships are awarded to English majors who have completed at least 12 credits of English coursework and have at least a 3.50 GPA.

To apply, complete the general scholarship form If you are eligible for the Twyman Scholarship, you will be redirected to an electronic application form where you can submit a writing sample.

University Scholarships

Filling out the general University Scholarship form also makes you eligible for a variety of scholarships on campus.
