Undergraduate Scholarships
Minot State University offers a variety of undergraduate scholarships funded from gifts to the University. Scholarships are based on academic achievements, financial need and other criteria defined by the donors.  For a list of scholarships, view the undergraduate catalog.

How to apply
Apply by completing one of the MSU Scholarship and Award Program Applications listed below.   Not all Colleges and/or Departments use the online scholarship application. Be sure to check with your College and/or Department for additional scholarship information.

2017-2018 General Scholarship & Award Program Application: Applications received after the February 15, 2017 priority deadline will be considereed as funds are available.

2016-2017 Applications received after the February 16, 2016 priority deadline will be considered as funds are available.


Undergraduate Award Programs: 

Minot State University offers the following award programs for new students. View award program terms and conditions.

New Freshmen Awards-Automatic for freshmen admitted to Minot State University by the February 15 priority deadline*, based on best composite ACT or combined SAT (Math + Reading) score and cumulative high school GPA.  View criteria here.  Separate application is not required. 

How to apply:  Complete admission application by February 15, including providing high school GPA and ACT or SAT scores to MSU Enrollment Services.  


New Transfer Student Award-New transfer students may apply for the Great Plains Transfer Student Scholar Award by applying for admission and submitting the MSU Scholarship and Award Program Application by the February 15 priority deadline* to be considered for the Transfer Award.  View criteria here.  

Cultural Diversity Award-New freshmen and transfer students may apply for the Cultural Diversity Tuition Waiver  by applying for admission and submitting the MSU Scholarship and Award Program Application by the February 15 priority deadline*.  


All recipients of scholarships and awards are encouraged to “Be Seen Be Heard” by actively participating in one or more of our 60 student clubs and organizations.

*Late applications will be considered as funds are available.
