Scholarships:

Minot State University offers a variety of scholarships funded from gifts to the University. These scholarships are based on academic achievements, financial need, character, citizenship, residency and other criteria as defined by the donors.

Scholarships range in value from $50 to $5,000 each year, depending on your eligibility for a scholarship and the availability of funds. A list of scholarships is available in the MSU Catalog.

Application deadline is February 15.  Applications will be accepted through June 1 and may be considered pending availability of funds.

Scholarship awards require the student be enrolled full-time (12 or more credits).

Freshmen and transfer students should print and complete the Undergraduate Scholarship and Awards Program Application.  Transfer students must include a copy of their most recent unofficial transcript. 

Returning students may submit the Undegraduate Scholarship and Awards Program Application online.

Graduate Students should complete the Graduate School Scholarship Application.

 

Awards Program:

  • Awards Program recipients may be eligible for other scholarships and/or grants. 
  • The maximum amount a student can receive from institutional funds cannot exceed the tuition, fees and books, and room and board (if living on campus).  Institutional funds include any award programs and endowed scholarships.
  • Collaborative courses do not count toward the 12 credit minimum.
  • Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each term of attendance and complete 24 credits per academic  year.
  • Eligibility for Awards will be reviewed at the end of each term. 
  • Award programs are subject to change without notice and subject to affordability and the availability of funds.

Diversity Award Undergraduate new freshmen and first-time transfer students. Based on ethnic origin or economic hardship. Must have a high school GPA or transfer GPA of 2.25.  Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester.  The Award applies only to the tuition charged for the on-campus and off-campus face-to-face credits.  Award varies from 10% to 50% tuition discount per academic year.
Presidential Award This award is designed to promote the enrollment of students into our graduate programs.  Application is made by completing the Graduate School Scholarship Application. Award varies from $17% to 55% tuition discount.
