Exploring and enhancing cutting-edge academic programs allows Minot State to meet a changing global workforce. Increased funding for academic programs will help MSU maintain its 100-plus areas of study while exploring new, emerging degrees and certificates. Support for these programs extends beyond the student body, strengthening faculty and staff through professional development and creating opportunities to learn from alumni, community experts, and industry leaders.
Cybersecurity
Support for new major offerings in cybersecurity prepares our students to enter one of the fastest growing sectors of industry, with an estimated three million current job openings worldwide.
Music
Minot enjoys a lively arts scene thanks in large part to the work of Minot State and our students studying and performing with community members and professionals. Collaborations like the Minot Symphony Orchestra and the Western Plains Opera are costly and need funding to continue offering extraordinary experiences.
Nursing
In order for Minot State’s Department of Nursing to meet local and national shortages for nurses and to ensure the University continues to meet rigorous qualifications set by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Eduation and the North Dakota Board of Nursing, additional aid is needed.
Recently Added Programs
New academic offerings in entrepreneurship, leadership, early childhood education, medicinal plant chemistry, exercise science and rehabilitation, and individualized studies, as well as master’s programs in sports management, disability human services, math education, and special education, are essential in keeping MSU relevant in a changing academic landscape.

Continuing Minot State's Presidental Speaker Series and its Alumni Speaker Series will attract prestigious guest lecturers and prominent MSU alumni to create unique educational experiences and premier community events.
