Fully funded study abroad opportunity in Norway!
Minot State University and Harstad University College (Norway) announce a fully funded opportunity that will be awarded to two MSU students during the spring semester 2014, to perform a practical field experience in Harstad, Norway. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in social work or special education, as the practicum will be situated within the field of disability studies (i.e. working with individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities). The recipients of these prestigious awards will have the opportunity to broaden his/her expertise within their academic field as well as gain valuable practical experience in an international setting.Harstad University College (HiH), situated north of the Arctic Circle, has approximately 1,400 students enrolled. The institution was established in 1983 and offers a friendly and intimate atmosphere. There are two departments: Business Administration and Social Sciences, and Health and Social Work. Harstad is a modern city of 23,000 inhabitants characterized by a pleasant coastal climate, and ideally situated on a picturesque island surrounded by mountains and sea. Check out HiH at: www.hih.no.

|Abigail Naze, Miss Norsk Hostfest 2012, will be spending spring semester attending MSU’s partner institution Telemark University College (TUC) in Bø- a small town in southern Norway. Abbie is a senior majoring in music with a concentration in performance, and will take part in the Scandinavian Studies Program at TUC.|
|John Girard, professor of business administration, will participate in the Institute for Shipboard Education's spring 2013 voyage with Semester at Sea while on sabbatical leave. He will join 600 students as they circumnavigate the globe onboard the MV Explorer. During the 106-day voyage, he will combine teaching, global comparative education and academic research while traveling to 14 countries.|
