Minot State Giving Day set for April 10
MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State University Development Foundation will hold its sixth Giving Day on Wednesday, April 10.
Minot State Giving Day is a 24-hour, online event where alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff empower generations by making a gift of any size to areas that matter most to each donor. The Foundation will match 50% on all gifts up to $1,000, and, in addition, various challenges are available throughout the day, allowing donors to increase their impact.
“MSU Giving Day is focused on supporting areas that mean the most to our alumni and friends,” said Rick Hedberg, Minot State Development Foundation executive director. ”We’ve been extremely fortunate over the previous five giving days to have literally thousands of donors and friends step forward in support of campus projects and student scholarships. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference, especially with our matching funds and challenges.
“We are currently in the final year of our EMPOWER Capital Campaign. As we strive for the finish line of this historic campaign, this is the perfect opportunity to invest in important strategic initiatives. We are grateful for any support that can be provided.
All 70-plus Giving Day projects support the EMPOWER Capital Campaign, MSU’s ongoing comprehensive campaign aiming to raise $50 million by the end of 2024. This includes University priority projects: EMPOWER Grants, General Student Scholarship Fund, Student Emergency Fund, MSU Vision Fund, and Athletic Scholarship Fund. Minot State has raised just over $49 million during the EMPOWER campaign, including 1.4 million spanning five Giving Days.
Giving Day 2024 will start at 12:01 a.m. April 10 and run until 11:59 p.m. (CDT). However, gifts can be made prior to the event, as the Giving Day website, Give.MinotStateU.edu, is live. Minot State and Subway of Minot are partnering for a special Giving Day lunch of a sandwich, chips, and water, beginning at 11:45 a.m. in the Old Main Loop.
The MSU Development Foundation encourages both participation and engagement from alumni, friends, and donors leading up to and during MSU Giving Day. Special MSU Giving Day profile photos and social media banners have been made for Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and Instagram and are available for DOWNLOAD. The hashtag #MSUGivingDay is also encouraged for social media posts.
