Fieldwork and Research Opportunities
Fieldwork and research are integral to the environmental science program. You'll take field trips, gain hands-on experience, assist with faculty research (often earning credit for published work), and complete a Senior Seminar project to build skills for careers and graduate school.
Our Facilities
The Department of Science has acquired several major analytical instruments with funding through competitive grants from the National Science Foundation. These instruments are used for materials characterization both in coursework and research.
Get Involved
Campus clubs offer field trips, conferences, and community outreach to raise awareness of science. The Biology Club provides similar opportunities to engage with the scientific community. The A.U.G.I.T.E. club, Minot State's geology club, organizes field trips, outreach events, and speakers from the geological industry to discuss career challenges for graduating students.
