Minot State / Business Office / Grant & Contract Proposal Guidelines
Business Office

Grant & Contract Proposal Guidelines

This is the process adopted by MSU.

Step 1: Contact the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and inform them of your intent to apply for a grant or contract.
Step 2: Seek budget and narrative construction advice from the OSP, if needed.
Step 3: Prepare proposal and budget narrative according to grant instructions.
Step 4: Obtain proposal preapproval at least 10 business days prior to submission deadline.

  • Requirements include the budget, budget narrative, project abstract, and preapproval form. See Required Preapproval Process for more information.
  • A grant, contract, subcontract, renewal, or amendment will not be approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs until it has been reviewed by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the Accounting & Grant Analyst.
Step 5: Coordinate with OSP for proposal submission once the preapproval process is complete.

See the detailed list of deadlines for more information about grant preparation.
