The Office of Safety and Security (OSS) welcomes you to Minot State University. It is our highest priority to maintain a safe learning and living environment for everyone on campus. In order to accomplish this, we as a community need to work together, stay informed, and maintain awareness.

OSS provides 24/7 campus security coverage, utilizing full and part time campus security officers. OSS also has a 24/7 Security Hotline (701-858-HELP / 701-858-4357), for which we have a security member available to respond to any call that is placed at any time to that number. In accordance with scheduled campus activities, security officers tour all campus buildings to insure that all interior and exterior doors are secure. Vehicular and foot patrols of the campus are also conducted, as well as escorts on campus whenever requested. OSS oversees security at all events on campus, including those sponsored by non-university groups. Campus security officers, working closely with the Minot Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, enforce all regulations and laws.

We have an exceptionally safe campus, and this is due to the great cooperation of the students, faculty and staff of Minot State, in conjunction with the support provided us by local law enforcement and others in the community. Everyone works well together toward our goal of a safer campus.

Despite our best efforts, however, crimes may still happen. Safety and security is a shared responsibility, and we expect everyone to do their part in keeping Minot State the safe and enjoyable learning environment that it has been for the last 100 years.
