Agreement Between Minot State University and the Minot Public School District for Jointly Conducted Research
Minot State University (MiSU) and the Minot Public School District (MPSD) agree to work cooperatively in conducting education-related research involving students or teachers in the Minot Public School District. This Agreement, effective on day of , 2020, states the procedures to be used when either part decides to undertake such research.
Requests originating from Minot State University
MiSU faculty or students who are interested in conducting research in the MPSD will submit the completed Request to Conduct Research in the Minot Public School District form prior to seeking approval from MSU’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). The principal investigator (faculty or faculty supervising a student) will submit a copy of the IRB approval letter to MPSD prior to beginning the research.
Requests originating from the Minot Public School District
MPSD teachers, staff, or building-level administrators who are interested in research assistance from students or faculty at MiSU will complete the Request for Research Assistance from Minot State University form and submit to their immediate supervisor for approval. Once approved by MPSD, the principal investigator (teacher, staff, or building-level administrator conducting the research) may contact the appropriate MSU faculty member or the IRB chair for further guidance in identifying someone to assist in their research. Research involving human subjects that is conducted with the assistance of MiSU faculty, staff, or students requires prior approval from the MiSU IRB.
MiSU faculty and students often work without compensation on research projects which contribute to the knowledge base about the efficacy of innovate practices or reexamination of common practices from a different perspective. Faculty and students also work without compensation on projects that enhance the training of university students. Requests should meet these criteria or appropriate remuneration to the research assistant must be considered.
