Sociology

Mission Statement

The Sociology Department supports the mission of Minot State by implementing the goals of our university. We attempt to emphasize the primacy of learning, to prepare students for occupations aimed at improving the quality of life for all people to form productive alliances with a vast array of organizations through public service and research arrangements, to develop multicultural and international awareness by fostering respect for diversity found in American society and to encourage students to develop an understanding of other peoples and cultures. The department also continues to actively seek cooperative agreements with other NDUS institutions in order to share programs and increase opportunities for the citizens of the state. We encourage the participation of students and faculty in community, national and international exchanges in sociological education, research and service.
