Welcome

Welcome to Philosophy at Minot State University. Philosophers ask big questions. They ask about what constitutes right and wrong and how to live a good life. They consider the question of what we can know—if we can know anything at all. They inquire into what gives meaning to life. And they ask about the nature of things.

The Philosophy Program at MSU offers a Minor and a Concentration in the subject. We have a wide range of courses that investigate the human condition, foster critical thinking skills, and examine a broad array of questions central to both Eastern and Western thought. Students are challenged to expand their horizons and examine their own beliefs in light of the thinkers discussed and the texts read.
