Director of Choral Music, Dickinson High School
Matthew Goettle is the Director of Bands and Women’s Choirs at Dickinson High School, in Dickinson, ND. Before moving to Dickinson in 2019, he taught at Scobey High School in Scobey, MT (2004-2019), and North Shore Public Schools (Makoti and Ryder, ND), and Plaza Elementary School (Plaza, ND) - (2002-2004). Mr. Goettle has been an adjudicator for both band and choir in Montana music festivals over the years, and was the director of the Southwest Region for the North Dakota Surround the State in Song in Dickinson in 2019. He is currently the Dickinson City Band director, and was the director of the community symphony in Northeast MT, the Prairie Symphonette, for 15 seasons. He is a member of ACDA and NAfME.
Mr. Goettle graduated from Kenmare High School in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Science in Music in 2002, and his Masters in Music Education (MME) in 2016, from Minot State University. He is married to Jennifer Beaver, also a graduate of MSU, and a music teacher. They have 7 children - Abigail, Elizabeth, Lincoln, Caleb, Evelyn, Katrina, and David.
