Welcome
The Department of Biology offers degrees in Biology, Biology Education, Bioinformatics, and Medical Lab Science. Courses prepare students for entering professional schools (medical, dental, veterinary, optometry etc.), graduate school (Masters, PhD), industry (medical research, lab director, data analysis), and other jobs (teaching, lab tech, computational analysis, etc.). Our broad curriculum ensures that our majors learn about biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, as well as organismal and evolutionary biology.
Our department currently consists of five faculty members that specialize in a broad range of biological principles and collaborate to teach the diversity of courses offered in the department, and each faculty member partakes in an active research lab to allow students the opportunity to get their hands on the science they are learning in the classroom. We are passionate about giving students research opportunities that allow them to be biologists while they are earning their degree.
