String Ensemble
String ensemble provides chamber music and ensemble opportunities for string players. The ensemble is open to the general student and music major alike. Rehearsals meet once each week from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Meetings usually include small and collective string ensembles chosen to feature the individual participants. Regular performances are offered each semester.

Students wishing to participate may contact either Dr. Jon Rumney or Dr. Erik Anderson. The ensemble is open to all students and an audition is required for participation.

 

 

Minot Symphony Orchestra
A university/community partnership, the Minot Symphony Orchestra provides students with the opportunity to perform with a full symphony orchestra. The orchestra meets from 7:00-9:45 each Thursday evening. Community players, university professionals and students combine to present five concerts each academic year. The MSO publishes that “we are proud to be the smallest city in the nation to support a full-sized symphony orchestra, a testament to the high caliber of musicians within our community.

The ensemble is open to all students and an audition is required for participation.
