MSSM Admission Requirements and Instructions

  1. Completed MSU Graduate School Application. Applications must be submitted online. The Graduate School at Minot State University does not accept paper applications. To access the online application, please visit https://misu.my.site.com/apply. The exception to this is applications for re-admission (available on the Graduate School website).

  3. English Proficiency (on-campus international students only)

    a. 
    TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores taken within 2 years: Internet-Based Test with a minimum score of 79

    b.  IELTS (International English Language Testing System:) taken within 2 years: with a minimum score of 6.0 overall band.

    c.  Duolingo English TestA minimum score of 100
             
    Applicants are required to submit a current resume or curriculum vita.
     
  4. Statement of Purpose. Submit a concise (limited to 1,500 words) essay that describes your primary interest of study, your experiences related to that area of study, and your objectives in pursuing a graduate degree at Minot State University. In particular, your essay should be as specific as possible in describing your interests and should describe any relevant educational, research, commercial, government, or teaching experience. If you are applying for more than one program, you should submit a separate Statement of Purpose for each program.
     
  5. Declaration of finances (on-campus international students only).

    You can upload the information in the application system under "Other Supporting Documents.” If you are unable to upload the information, please send it to:
