Biography
Md Rakibul Hasan is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Cybersecurity at Minot State University. He is also completing his Ph.D. in Computer Science at North Dakota State University.
His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, privacy, and healthcare computing, with particular emphasis on federated learning, privacy-preserving machine learning, blockchain, knowledge distillation, ensemble learning, and distributed healthcare analytics. His work focuses on developing secure and intelligent systems that can learn collaboratively from distributed and sensitive data while preserving privacy and adaptability.
His recent research has addressed privacy-preserving diabetes and heart-disease prediction, patient digital twins using vertical federated learning, and blockchain-enabled federated learning for smart-home intrusion detection. His work has appeared in venues including JMIR Diabetes, Biomedicines, Smart Cities, and IEEE conferences.
As an educator, Hasan is interested in making computer science and cybersecurity concepts accessible, practical, and engaging through clear explanations, progressive learning, and connections between theory and real-world computing problems.
