Daren Erisman is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Minot State University with a focus on programming languages, digital hardware, and data science.

Dr. Erisman earned undergraduate degrees in Engineering Physics and Electrical & Computer Engineering. His early research interests were in optical computing and data-packet switching algorithms. Working in industry and at N.O.A.A., he was a programmer for the Advanced Weather Forecasting group, doing real-time data ingest. Later, he served as a minister, a campus pastor, and a teacher earning graduate degrees in the areas of Comparative Religion, and Philosophy & Science.

Current interests include the development of the Data Science program at Minot State Unversity. His hobbies include hiking, sound consulting, music, and a good robotics competition!
