"The power and beauty of geography allow us to see, understand, and appreciate the web of relationships between people, places, and environments." - Geography Education Standards Project

Welcome to Geography at Minot State University! Geography is an exciting subject that studies both human and natural phenomena and the interaction and relationship between the two. Studying geography can help you develop a spatial perspective of the world and help you recognize the interconnectedness of various human and physical elements on planet Earth. At MSU, we offer a minor and concentration in geography with courses in human geography, physical geography, and GIS.

“The more we know about our planet and its fragile natural environments, about other peoples and cultures, political systems and economies, borders and boundaries, attitudes and aspirations, the better prepared we will be for the challenging times ahead.” - Harm de Blij, “Why Geography Matters”
