Save money on health care and dependent care costs

With open enrollment around the corner (October 16 - November 3), it's time to consider all of the options. Can you possibly save money on health care and dependent care costs by using a flexible spending account (FSA)? Here is some useful information to help you decide.


Hiring Managers: Candidate Screening & Evaluation Tools

HR has posted applicant screening and evaluation tools to assist hiring managers with federal and state compliance (e.g. veteran's preference, EEO, affirmative action) while also helping to achieve a more efficient screening/hiring process. Employee Self-Service Update

You can now access your Annual Statement and estimate your Retirement Benefit with the updated factors through PERSLink Member Self Service (MSS).


New TIAA Mobile App  

Stay connected to your financial goals with the TIAA mobile app. Track investments, check balances, find/send documents or contact your advisor on your Apple or Android device.

2017 tiaa summer seminars


Minot State University has been named one of the best four-year colleges of 2017, according to the website Schools.com.

The website ranked more than 1,600 schools across the country, and looked at affordability, flexibility, and other factors.


The $250 Wellness Benefit is Back

Effective June 1, 2017, the NDPERS Dakota Wellness Program $250 Benefit will be reinstated for all eligible members and their covered spouses participating in the NDPERS group health insurance plan. For more information contact our Wellness Center.


Employee Recognition Awards

On Wednesday, May 10, MSU faculty and staff came together at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall to honor our retirees and those who have reached 5-year milestones including 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service. The celebration included hors d’oeuvres, achievement awards and outstanding academic advising awards.

The Art of Mindfulness in Managing Stress (April 3)

If there is one condition that describes our lives today, it is “stressed out”. Recent changes in our community have increased stress levels for many of us. High stress levels take a toll on our life, work, physical health and relationships. Learning how to recognize and reduce stress is key to living a healthy life. Take some time out of your “busyness” to practice the techniques for managing stress. This program is brought to you by your Staff Senate, Wellness Center, Marketing and Human Resources team. MSU Announces Tenured Faculty Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (March 17)

MSU is offering a limited-time Tenured Faculty Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (TFVSIP) in an effort to reduce salary, benefit and wage costs given the current financial situation. The Program provides eligible tenured faculty members with a severance package based on annual base salary. Information and applications are available at www.askmsu.com/tfvsip. Faculty who would like additional information can contact Dr. Marc Wachtfogel, Director of Human Resources.


MSU Announces Staff Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (March 17)

The Program provides eligible staff members with incentive compensation based on their annual base salary and completed years of service if they choose to separate from employment at MSU under the conditions of the program. Information and applications are available at www.askmsu.com/svsip. Staff members who would like additional information can contact Dr. Marc Wachtfogel, Director of Human Resources.


New Applicant Screening Process

MSU HR has contracted with Sterling Talent Solutions to conduct background investigations as part of the application process. Through this partnership, we are reducing cost while increasing workflow efficiency and customer service. If your department has part-time or student workers who require screening (NDUS 602.3), please contact HR for access and training. Training will take place on February 22 via web meeting. Faculty and staff applications will continue to be handled by HR.

Please note that consent forms will only be used when an applicant's email address is not available.


NDUS Faculty Leave Task Force

The NDUS Faculty Leave Task Force resumed meetings on January 11.  Chancellor Hagerott charged the task force with providing one consistent policy for all 11 institutions for annual leave and sick leave for faculty.
