Minot Symphony Orchestra presents ‘Fun and Games’
MINOT, N.D. – Dress up as your favorite video game character and come listen to the music of your favorite video games performed live by the Minot Symphony Orchestra as well as Gershwin’s famous “Rhapsody in Blue” featuring Minot State’s own Sean Bostrom on Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.
Games featured on this concert include “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate,” “Civilization VI,” and “The Banner Saga,” to name a few. A cosplay contest will also be held throughout the evening. There will be two divisions, a junior division for ages 18 and under and an adult division for ages 19 and older. One winner will be chosen in each category and will receive two tickets to iMagicon.
During this concert, music education major Sean Bostrom will perform the piano solo of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” a combination of jazz and classical orchestra music.
“I'm really excited to perform Rhapsody in Blue with the symphony,” said Bostrom. “I've never had an opportunity like this before, so, in a way, I think of it as my entrance into professional performance.”
The concert is part of the 2019-2020 concert series, “Homegrown.” Tickets start at $25 for adults with senior discounts, and Minot State students can receive a free ticket with their current student ID. Tickets can be purchased ONLINE or call 701-858-4228.
The Minot Symphony Orchestra is a University and community orchestra that has been performing for Northwest North Dakota for over 90 years and is comprised of a unique blend of student, community, and professional musicians, directed by Amaya.
