Frantsvog, a "Renaissance Man"
Dean Frantsvog can be described as a "Renaissance Man," or a person who is well educated or who excels in a wide variety of subjects or fields. After graduating from Minot State University with a bachelorís degree in criminal justice, he completed a law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn. While establishing a law practice, focusing primarily on small business, financial and regulatory matters, Frantsvog was elected to Minot's City Council in 2002. He began teaching at MSU in 2004, where he serves as an assistant professor of accounting in the College of Business.
"The quality of the education students receive at Minot State is second to none," said Frantsvog. "Our students can take pride in their accomplishments."
Currently, Frantsvog serves as the president of the city council, where he is interested in economic development and promotion of Minot. His professional affiliations include the American Bar, North Dakota State Bar and Ward County Bar Associations, the executive board of the Minot Kiwanis Club and the North Dakota Young Lawyers Committee. In addition, Frantsvog is a founding member of the Greater Expectations for Minot Group.
