Gordon B. Olson Library

Off-Campus Services

Any faculty member who is offering a course in which the students will not be attending class on campus, should be aware of special library services and policies that are in place to assist both the faculty member and the students.

A faculty member interested in library instruction for the class or reference service for their off-campus students should contact Information Literacy Librarian Ben Bruton at least two weeks in advance in order to plan the library instruction component of the class.

Faculty teaching these courses should be aware that the Gordon B. Olson Library home page has a resource page for distance education students under "Distance Education." This page explains to students how to apply for a library account and how to utilize our interlibrary loan services from off-campus.  Any questions about student accounts should be directed to Access Services Librarian Sarah Henderson.

This same "Distance Education" web page also has instructions on how to access the library's databases and reference service from off-campus.  Distance students are also encouraged to contact Ben for more in-depth reference assistance.
