Studio Application
MSU Art Department’s Studio Program provides a dynamic hub for promising emerging artists to interact, develop new work, and give back to the MSU art community.
Studio spaces are awarded for high achievement and need.
Priority Hierarchy
- Students exhibiting excellence in general coursework, as indicated by an Art Grade Point Average (2.5 min) and accrued credits.
- Students completing work for Capstone Experience (ART 492, 493)
- Students completing coursework for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
- Students completing coursework in Directed Research (ART 494), with need
- Students completing coursework in the art department, with need
Application Requirements:
- Application Form [pdf]
- Cover Letter: Please introduce yourself and your art practice (what, how, and why you do what you do as an artist). Also, tell us why you are interested in having a studio space and how it will benefit the MSU art community.
- Unofficial Transcript with the number of art credits taken and Art GPA tallied.
- Include 10 artwork images saved as jpg sized 1280 in the longest dimension. Include a corresponding image inventory list (save as jpgs).
- Return all the materials to Professor Stander via email at ryan.stander@ndus.edu by Friday, May 1, 2020. Please include “Studio Application” in the email subject line.
