Sustainability Committee Mission
The Minot State University sustainability committee is committed to facilitate the ability of faculty, staff and students to reduce the campus ecological footprint, provide community leadership in sustainability issues, and to educate both the campus and community about sustainability issues.
Definition of Sustainability
The Sustainability Committee adopted the definition of sustainability proposed by the Brundtland Commission in its report to the United Nations on Environment and Development (1). Sustainability means: "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." This is a commonly adopted definition and the same definition used by the U.S.E.P.A.
