Guidelines for course completions are set by the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and participants will be expected to attend and participate in person 100% of the course and successfully complete all written assignments for full credit and Level I certification from The American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA).

  • Each day participants will receive 3 hours of pedagogy, 75 minutes of recorder, and 75 minutes of movement.
  • Special Topics will also be included 5 of the 10 days
  • Daily homework is also part of the course

Daniel Jolly - Basic Pedagogy Level I
Daniel Jolly is a National Board-Certified Teacher with a Bachelor’s in Music Education from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed his Orff levels at UNLV and has been teaching in Las Vegas for 12 years. He has been published in AOSA’s Orff Echo and has presented both locally and at AOSA’s national conference. He is an AOSA certified teacher educator and teaches at several teacher education courses across the country. Daniel was a Co-Chair for the CCSD Orff Festival and is currently serving as the President of Nevada’s Desert Valley Chapter of AOSA.

 

Billy Ferguson - Basic Pedagogy Level II
Billy Ferguson retired from teaching Elementary music after 31 years in Texas Public Schools. During those years he was named teacher of the year 3 times and his students were invited to perform at the Texas Music Educators Conference in 2007 and 2013, and the American Orff Schulwerk Associations Professional Development Conference in 2017.

Billy completed his Orff levels at University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Universty of Memphis as well as a Master Class with Jos Wuytak. He also attended the International Course for Music and Movement Pedagogy at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria.

Billy has taught Orff Level 1 Pedagogy at Hofstra University in New York and levels 1 and 2 in Orange Country Public Schoos in Orlando, Florida. He has presented workshops at the local, state and national levels and is honored and excited to return to the great state Noth Dakota to share in the joyful experience of creating music.

 

Sally Sandoval - Basic Pedagogy Level III
Sally Sandoval has over forty years of experience teaching music from Pre-k- through university. She has served on the NBT for AOSA and was a founding member of two Orff chapters in South Texas. She has taught Orff levels courses in Texas, Louisiana, California, and Ohio. She attended the Curso Internacional de Musica y Danza in Spain in 1998. She has presented workshops for Orff Chapters and schools in the United States and Mexico. She is currently teaching at the
Brownsville Montessori Academy in Brownsville, Texas.

  

Jennifer Prestridge - Recorder
Jennifer K. Prestridge has taught music to Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Las Vegas, Nevada for the past 27 years and is currently the Music Specialist at Gilbert Academy of Creative Arts. Gilbert’s performing ensembles were features performers at the AOSA National Conference in 2019. Jennifer is a certified Teacher-Educator in movement and recorder for AOSA and teaches at several courses across the country. She regularly presents sessions on arts integration, music and movement at conferences and workshops at the district and national levels.

  

Rachel Rivera - Movement
Rachel is a National Board-Certified Teacher. She completed her Orff Level certification at UNLV. She has taught K-5 General Music in the Clark County School District for 16 years. Rachel has served on her local Orff board (NDVC) as President, treasurer, scholarship chair and programing chair. She has presented for her district and at AOSA’s national conference. She co-chaired the CCSD Orff Festival from 2014-2015. Rachel believes that movement is for everyone, and using the Schulwerk to teach movement makes the possibilities of creativity endless.
